Nature gives us her enchantment…
A wonderful expanse of variegatedly colored tulips enchants you as soon as you catch sight of it, and the desire to dive among the various rows to observe them suddenly overtakes you.
The poetry of nature is expressed at Tulipark in Bologna through as many as 500,000 tulips of 115 different varieties, and visitors will be able to pick a number of them themselves and have an enchanting bouquet made to take home.
Tulipark is thebrainchild of three Sicilian brothers-David , Filippo and Gaetano-owners of a family flower business, who founded first the Tulipark in Rome, then the one in Bologna and most recently the one in Spoleto.
Aimed at raising awareness among its visitors with respect to sustainability and the protection of natural and cultural heritage, the park offers a guided tour to discover the history of the tulip and all its characteristics.
Visitors, equipped with a red bucket, will be able to freely pick their favorite tulips using the so-called U-pick method, and then have them packaged into an enchanting bouquet at the Incarto gazebo. Cut bulbs will be donated to charity.
Among the many tulips will be the unusual black tulips, the red-colored Rudolf tulip, and the pink-green-colored Groenlander.
Tulipark also features a scaled windmill made by a Dutch carpenter, a maxi Klompen by an Italian artist, small wooden clogs in which to stick your feet and take photos, and a stage made from recycled pallets offered by Bologna Pallet.
Tulipark will feature a food truck with typical Dutch delicacies, including the very tasty Frikandellen, Amstel beer and other beverages, Dutch tea with cookies.
There are also several proposed activities of entertainment: various games for children and adults, such as BorenGolf, cheese toss, and planting bulbs. “Plant it” is thechildren’s initiative through which they are encouraged to respect the environment and are taught how to plant and grow a tulip.
Tulipark will be open for visits until about the end of April! For all visit information and find out about all events, see the website:
