The first thing to know is that <\/span>leashes are always required in the National Park<\/b>. And no, this isn’t an annoying restriction, but a crucial step to protect three incredibly precious things: nature, wildlife, and, above all, your dog.<\/span><\/p>

Your dog\u2019s exceptional sense of smell could lead him to pick up the scent of a wild animal. In the woods, an off-leash dog can scare fawns, disturb local wildlife, or\u2014worse yet\u2014come face-to-face with a wolf (which instinctively protects its territory). Keeping your dog on a leash allows him to enjoy the outdoors without stress or danger. <\/span><\/p>

Off-limits areas.<\/b> There are certain areas of the park, known as Strict Nature Reserves (such as the very famous Sasso Fratino Reserve), where entry is <\/span>strictly prohibited for both people and dogs<\/b>, even if they’re on a leash.
